The Handcrafted Blanket That Builds Schools For Girls In India
BLOOM & GIVE
For Bloom & Give, impact is paramount. Started by lifelong friends, Partha and Madhu, who were born in India, the company donates fifty percent of their profits to nonprofits working towards gender equality and providing a quality education for young girls in India.
Textiles have been handmade in India for thousands of years, using specialized techniques like weaving, dyeing and embroidery. Passed down over hundreds of generations, Bloom & Give wanted to honor the artisans that continue to practice these traditional techniques with pride and precision.
Items like the Barmer Kantha Throw are made with fine, natural cotton yarn and adorned with rows of running stitches in alternate colors. The thousands of small stitches are done by hand, in the storied Kantha tradition by women artisans in the Barmer region of Rajasthan, India. With a wide selection of scarves, bags, blankets and home goods, Bloom & Give makes it easy to decorate and give gifts that have a ripple effect.
