Dine Here For An Authentic Chinese Culinary Experience In California

CHINA LIVE MARKETPLACE

CHINA LIVE MARKETPLACE

A food emporium in San Francisco’s Chinatown, China Live is rumored to be one of the greatest thing to happen to the area. A concept by chef George Chen, the idea was inspired by his desire to share his Chinese roots and an understanding of the culture through food. Importing spices from his homeland and using ingredients from local merchants, the all-in-one marketplace showcases Chen’s comprehensive culinary talent.

Often compared to New York’s  Eataly, visitors can stop by China Live for a tea break at the Oolong café, have a quick casual bite at the first floor Market Restaurant where Chen’s menu changes daily and then head to the adjacent marketplace to find everything from cookware to spices.

If you prefer fine dining, make a reservation for a prix fixe eight-course tasting menu at the Eight Tables restaurant, designated one of TIME magazine’s world’s greatest places to dine. Designed to make you feel as if you are having an authentic meal in the chef’s home, the experience is complete with Chinese decor and portraits of his childhood with his family. After dinner, head to the chic speakeasy bar, Cold Drinks, for a craft cocktail, where scotch is the prominent spirit at this cocktail nook.
